Closer

The next Penelope that I show will be the final, promise.
This was a nice escape from writing papers.

Quick update...

Congratulations to Jenni who got a job as a Kindergarten teacher!
I'm sure you'll be awesome, Ms. Rubright!
Sadly, that means that she is no longer with us at Kamans, but we're hoping she'll still grace us with her fun sketches ;))

Congrats to Jess who got promoted to Jenni's position, she is pulling in overtime hours, but promises she'll get some new sketches to brighten up our days soon.

I promise to be more active on this too... I graduate in two weeks, so I'll have more time then.

Keep it real

Volver

She is in one of my favorite flicks.
I was planning on posting a landscape, but then I thought a face sketch was in order.
Have fun.

My life, my love, and my lady... Angela Campisi

This is my first Photoshop painting. There was no shortcutting, or filters used. It may seem a bit puerile for Photoshop painters (I'm hoping that I'll improve.)
So far, so fun.

p.s.
It's my turn to post the next image. In hopes to give our blog some
momentum I'm going to post the new image a week from today ;))

I would like to state for the record...

For those of you who didn't get the reference "push the leather to the metal", as letterbrush artists we use small pieces of leather in a metal clamp in place of paint brushes. While I am required to use these brushes, I just want to state for the record that I am against the use of genuine leather and I do not promote it. I try to live as cruelty free as possible, so obviously this goes against my ethics. But I've got a job to do and I will continue to do it well....while hoping that one day I will get my hands on some "pleather" brushes, and give the customer the option of a cruelty free painting :P
That it all!

Jessica's Snake Bite

Here is my version of the photo that I picked out. I had the chance to draw one of my favorite subjects, snakes. I just used a marker and some color sticks. Nothing too exciting here!

First Bitten- Angela Campisi

This is, obviously, a very literal approach. I began this sketch at 6:00 and ended it at 7:20.
I drew this with a sharpie marker, and colored in the snake and man with color pencils.
The background was filled in with PS.
I'm awful at coloring things in; I've never had proper training, with the exception of Dion telling me where I should shade. I think it looked better without color. However, I love color, so I know that I need more practice. Thank you kindly, Jess.
It was fun.

It just came out of nowhere...

Alright ladies, now you are on my turf. I did an image search for snakes and this is what I found. I love this picture.

Jessica's Cake...And Two Crazy Guys

Mine seems to be the simplest of all the cakes. Next time I promise to put a little more effort into my sketch. My cake was sketched out with pencil and then colored in with prismacolor pencils. Simple as that. Now I am off to look for our next project.

Jeni's - Raspberries to you too

My cake. I started out with a pencil sketch and tehn decided to color it with watercolors. Upon discovery that my scanner was malfunctioning I attempted to photograph the original image to upload it. Due to poor image quality I added a neat-ish filter to it in photoshop. I think it came out looking kinda cool.

Angela's recipe for the birds

I started out with ink and colored in the sketch with water color;
I filled in the lady fingers and back ground with Photoshop.
It was a fun sketch and a nice warm up.
Sometimes, dessert must come first.
